Service Operations Support 8

Provide second-level maintenance support to the Federal Aviation Administration: restoration assistance, remotely or on-site, development, testing, and production of engineering solutions in response to NAS problem reports and approved casefiles, engineering studies and alternative analysis solutions, configuration and documentation maintenance, release and control and assurance of the supportability of new systems before they become deployed into the NAS for EnRoute, Oceanic, Communication, flight service and weather engineering, National Airway Systems Engineering, Information Systems Security and Business Operations.

With ASRC Federal Research & Technology Solutions, provide second-level maintenance support to the Federal Aviation Administration: restoration assistance, remotely or on-site, development, testing, and production of engineering solutions in response to NAS problem reports and approved casefiles, engineering studies and alternative analysis solutions, configuration and documentation maintenance, release and control and assurance of the supportability of new systems before they become deployed into the NAS for Terminal, Communication, flight service and weather engineering, National Airway Systems Engineering, Information Systems Security and Business Operations.

EnRoute Integration & Interoperability Facility (EIIF)

With DIGITALiBiz, Inc., provide the FAA’s Concepts and Systems Integration (CSI) Branch the support and services required by the Integration and Interoperability Facility organizations for En Route and Oceanic air traffic domains. We foster the exploration and evaluation of air traffic concepts for all domains within a rapid prototyping environment and facilitate the integration of cutting-edge air traffic solutions into fielded systems. The CSI labs include the En Route Integration and Interoperability Facility (EIIF), the Oceanic Integration and Interoperability Facility (OIIF), the Next Generation (NextGen) Integration and Evaluation Capability (NIEC), the Florida Test Bed (FTB), and the Research, Development, and Human Factors Laboratory (RDHFL).

System Engineering 2020 (SE2020)

With Exelis, awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to support the development of advanced concepts involving the FAA's Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) initiative to modernize the U.S. national airspace system. Will conduct leading edge concept development work across all dimensions of air traffic control including ground systems, avionics, aircraft, air traffic control rules and procedures, human factors, safety and security, environmental and standards. Provides support for the application of scientific and analytical applied research directed toward data collection/reduction analysis and concept exploration and development to satisfy existing and emerging demand for NAS services.

System Engineering 2020 (SE2020)

With Metron, awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for Research and Mission Analysis Set-Aside the FAA’s strategic program for implementing the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen). The ten-year contract was the largest single award to a small business in FAA history to include Concept & Requirements Definition, Planning, Early Life Cycle Concepts and Prototyping, Early Life Cycle Human Factors, Research, Operations Research, Human Performance Analysis, Proof of Concept Research, Pre-Operational Concept, Demonstration Trials, Cost Benefit Analysis, Rapid Prototyping/Fast-Time Modeling, Real-Time Simulations, Human In-the-Loop Simulations and Conceptual Operations Verification & Validation.

EnRoute Technical Assistance Support Services (ETASS)

With Human Solutions, Inc., (HSI) awarded the ETASS contract to provide engineering, professional, and technical services to support existing and future National Airspace System (NAS) initiatives. Provides for a broad set of technical and professional services to support operations in the EnRoute and Oceanic Service Unit as well as Technical Operations Services, System Operations Services and the Office of Technical Training organizations. Includes mission critical programs as EnRoute Automation Modernization (ERAM), Advance Technologies and Oceanic Procedures (ATOP), Weather and Radar Processor (WARP), Integrated Terminal Weather Systems (ITWS), Aviation Surface Observation Network (ASWON), Traffic Flow Management (TFM), and Data Communications, as well as other programs throughout the Air Traffic Organization (ATO).

Common Terminal Digitizer (CTD)

With Sunhillo Corporation, provide support for the Common Terminal Digitizer (CTD) to enable the Airport Surveillance Radar Model 8 (ASR-8) system to interface with digital automation technology in various National Airspace System (NAS) systems. The CTD provides a digital output by converting the existing ASR-8 and Air Traffic Control Beacon Interrogator Model 5 (ATCBI-5) and Mode Select (Mode-S) outputs into a digital message format to interface with digital automation technology fielded in various NAS systems (e.g., Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS), En Route Automation Modernization (ERAM).
